Piazzano is a parish of Tuoro sul Trasimeno, found at the far west of the town map, at the border with Cortona, in the foothills of the Tuscan Valle dell’Esse.

Its use as hunting grounds for the Papal State’s noblemen is attested by a hunting lodge, built in the fourteen-hundreds and extended in 1694. The lodge was commissioned for the use of Cardinal Silvio Passerini (1469-1529), treasurer of the Holy See, bishop of Cortona and friend of the Medici. I

n later times, the building housed a convent and more recently, in the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries, a farmhouse, as the estate was turned over to the production of tobacco and wine.
