PALAZZO DEL CAPRA

According to local tradition, the Palazzo del Capra would have been built above a mausoleum to consul Gaius Flaminius, fallen in the battle of Lake Trasimeno. Its towers, moreover, would rise above the remains of an ustrinum (a Roman funeral pyre), and a Roman temple. A notable fresco inside the palace was painted by master Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino.
