STATION 07 – HANNIBALS ORDERS THE ATTACK

Having assembled the chiefs of his army in front of the encampment, Hannibal is here depicted about to give order to attack.
The leader of the Carthaginians is shown wearing a linothorax, a Hellenic-style upper body armour of metal and linen, strengthened by metal plaques around the midriff. Two other officers are dressed in the same style, while the other two, appearing to the left and just behind the commander, are suited with a heroic cuirass, a body armour cast to mimic the human chest, and, from what we can make out, a mail armour vest in the Italic style (only a shoulder strap can be seen).
